Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) uses monochromatic light emission from a low intensity laser diode (250 millliwatts or less) or an array of high intensity Super Luminous Diodes (providing optical power of 1000-2000 milli watt range) to treat musculoskeletal injuries, chronic and degenerative conditions and to heal wounds.

A Light source is placed in contact with the skin allowing photon energy to penetrate tissue, where it interacts with various intracellular biomolecules resulting in restoration of normal cell function and enhancement of the body’s healing processes. LILT is called a cold laser as there is no heat generated.

Effects of LILT include increased ATP production and DNA production. LILT stimulates angiogenesis. Immune response is stimulated and lymphatic drainage is improved. 5-20 sessions of 30-60 minutes in duration gives the best results.
